Being a photographer, I have seen many people being awkward while posing for the camera. Recently, I went to my cousin’s sangeet ceremony and her friends wanted me to click their pictures. When I asked them to pose for the camera, everyone seemed uncomfortable in front of the camera. That’s when I thought, it must be a task for non-models and common people to pose during a usual or an occasional photo shoot.
I searched on Google, but all the information is scattered. And so, I decided, the focus of these blogs is upon the new members or noobs who would like to get clicked. This blog deals with simple photography pose for noobs.
Try something simple
I suggest you try something effortless. I know, clicking candid photos is a cliché trend of the times, but trust me, it works! Dress up well, look in any of your directions but not the camera is exactly what is required. Changing your directions is useful to add natural lights and shadows, it is also useful for the body shape to look attractive. You can add props to your pictures to make them more candid, just look toward the prop or lean towards it.

Something to lean on
A simple picture looks good when you lean on it. For example, consider a wall, you can click a nice picture by leaning on it. Moreover, the texture of the wall will be helpful to give a sort of theme to your picture. Lean on a chair, the bed wall gives your picture a touch of comfort and happiness. Also, it gives support to your body to maintain a proper shape.

Crossed legs always help
You might have seen people posting Instagram pictures with crossed legs. Do you know the reason behind it? The reason is, it makes a picture more presentable. Also, while doing this kind of pose, you put your weight on the leg that is behind so that, your body does not look bulky, instead, it should seem lighter in the picture. If you decide to sit in a crossed leg position and click a picture, it looks young, bold, raw, and street style. This can be combined with arms or leg movements for enhancement.

Close-ups
Close-ups are one such way of capturing the expressional beauty of a human face. Close are all about a perfect level of light on your face that will enlighten your picture. Cheekbones, jawlines, eyes, lips are important parts for clicking close-ups. People usually prefer a smiling for close-ups but, it is too common for the times. Sometimes, showing expressions like smirking, anger, laughter are fine for clicking good pictures.

The mirror makes it better
Adding a mirror to your pictures is beneficial for the advancement of your pictures. A mirror is considered to be a sign of positivity. Adding a mirror to your image can add to the vibrancy. To maintain the balance of light, a mirror is added to the picture. Other than that, the mirror adds class and so, it won’t be wrong to say that adding a mirror to your picture is a trend.
