Cyberpunk 2077 is an upcoming video game developed and to be released by studio CD Projekt. The game will be available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One and you can get your hands on a copy after it’s released on April 16th, 2020. The game has been adapted from the tabletop game Cyberpunk 2020. Further, It was released in 1988 and Cyberpunk 2077 is set 57 years later in a dystopian Night City in the state of California. Cyberpunk 2077 will be an open world experience with six different regions.
The gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 will be in the first-person perspective and the players will play the role of a customizable mercenary called V. The character can reach eminence in 3 character classes by using experience points to upgrade statistics. V has an amazing arsenal of numerous ranged weapons and many options for melee combat. Cyberpunk 2077 is under development by CD Projekt Red which is an internal studio under CD Projekt. The game will be running on the REDengine 4 game engine. Unlike the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, there’ll be more staff members working on the project and the total number is around 450. And the biggest attraction of the game is Keanu Reeves playing a starring role in Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG played with the first-person configuration as a mercenary named V whose sex appeal, face, hairstyle, body modifications, body type, background, and clothes, all are customizable. V’s clothes alter how interactions with non-player characters (NPCs) will go. This means with whom the player will have the probability to form a romantic and sexual relationship.
Stat categories such as Strength, Intelligence, Constitution, Tech, Reflex, and Cool, all are moldable to the character classes that the player will choose. The various CCs (Character Classes) are NetRunner (hacker), Techie (good with machines), and Solo (fighter). The perk tree is branched into melee, handguns, blades, rifles, shotguns, hacking, sniper rifles, assassination, two-handed combat, “cold blood”, athletics, and engineering. In order to upgrade his stats, V must consult a “ripperdoc” and make purchases with in-game currency.
There’ll be six regions in the open world of Cyberpunk 2077, namely the corporate City Center, luxurious Westbrook, immigrant-inhabited Watson, gang-infested Pacifica, industrial Santo Domingo, and suburban Heywood. Also, the badlands surrounding Night City can also be explored. The player will be able to navigate these locations on foot or with the help of a vehicle. Also, the latest news suggests that there’ll be no morality mode allowing players to kill anyone they like. Now that’s a bonus!!
Choice Based Story And Ending
The gameplay is highly interactive and the player will get to make a lot of choices. Based on those choices, the story will build up and the collective result of those choices will decide the ending of the game. That’s one of the best things about the game as the player will have a reason to play through the story again with a different character class and different choices every time. The best part about choice based open world games is experimenting with the choices and enjoying the different number of outcomes.
The E3 Reveal And Trailer
The game was revealed on the E3 2019 event and the crowd went crazy towards the end of the trailer as they saw a familiar and lovable face on the screen, the Matrix superstar, the man whose dog you don’t mess with, Keanu Reeves. Everyone was already excited after seeing Keanu Reeves in the trailer and knowing that he will be starring in the game.
A bigger and the best surprise of the E3 2019 event was when Keanu Reeves walked out on the stage of the event to a roaring crowd. The moment will go down in history as one of the best E3 moments of all time.
The game is set to be released on April 16th, 2020 which is amazing as the time difference is way less than many other highly-anticipated games that were announced at the E3 event. It will be released for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and my favorite console, Play Station 4. It is said that the game will have 4K graphics and will run smoothly depending upon the compatibility of the device.
My Thoughts On The Trailer And The Game
This is the most excited I’ve ever been for a game and there are many reasons behind this. First is the video game adaptation of my favorite tabletop game, Cyberpunk 2020. And I must say that the developers are very clever for releasing the game in the year 2020 as a homage to the classic Cyberpunk 2020. Another reason for me to be excited is Keanu Reeves starring in the game. I mean, do you need any more reasons to play the game? I know that I don’t.
